He promised himself he wouldn’t do this again, even if he got in a bad state. Ava called it ‘doom scrolling’ saying it was what kids call it these days. When he killed that man and everyone in the world hated him, article after article said that he ‘was a disgrace to ever wear the symbol of someone like Captain America’ and he went so far down that rabbit hole that his wife and kid left him. He remembered after they left him doing nothing but lying down in his bed, staring at the ceiling, not being able to sleep, doing missions for Val, and waiting for his wife to come back with his kid in her arms. But they never did. He couldn’t blame them for any of this, he knew deep down that that should’ve happened sooner.

If you told John from a few months ago that he was an Avenger and he worked with a girl who could just disappear, a sad blonde girl, the sad blonde girl’s dad, Bucky, and some guy named Bob, and that he was actually (secretly) happy about it he would’ve laughed in your face (and probably shoot you but that’s not the point). Even though his life was at rock bottom for a while, he didn’t realize he could build himself back up again.

Summary
Buck has been on a high for days. It feels as if he is in an everlasting dream, and he’s afraid that one day he will wake up and ‘his’ house will be as cold as it was months ago.
Since Eddie and Christopher surprised him and told him they were staying in LA forever, he has had a pep in his step. And, he gets to live with both of them, which feels so natural. Before Christopher left, he had already lived at Eddie’s house, basically. He spent almost every second he breathed at Eddie’s house. Which is now technically his house, but it never felt like his. He felt empty when he saw how empty the house was without Eddie or Christopher until Eddie drove away in his U-Haul truck.

Eddie comes back from El Paso and drives Buck crazy so Buck goes to Maddie for help.
