Months after consuming Makima to become one with her, Denji survives in an indifferent Tokyo. Power claimed that one day, she would become Prime Minister.
Everyone thought she was joking, including Power herself.
When Kishibe finds out that Makima has a contract with the Prime Minister, effectively making her immortal by transferring any and all injuries or death to a random Japanese citizen, he has a hunch. If Power were to become Prime Minister, surely, that'd mean that Makima would end up becoming subservient to her? He knew it was a gamble, but he had no idea just how effective the horned fiend would be at winning over the masses.
"A bad plan is better than no plan," Kishibe decided with a shrug. "Alright, time to make Power the ruler of a nation."

Summary
Fresh from his date with Makima, Denji finds himself torn. On one hand, his life has improved more than he could have ever imagined: Aki is beginning to warm up to him, Power hasn't tried to kill him this week, and working under Makima was like a dream come true! However, despite all of this, he still finds himself plagued by doubts. Does he have a heart? Can he love anyone? Could anyone love him?
It was just meant to be another mission for Reze, a simple undercover operation to ensnare and capture the Public Safety rookie with a devil for a heart. What she didn't expect was to find her self enjoying the mundane life of a waitress and, increasingly, the company of the boy who was meant to be her target. The flirting is still all just an act... right?
As their happy routine rapidly hurtles towards conflict, both Denji and Reze will be left at a crossroads with tough choices ahead. Though maybe it can take just one decision to change a bleak future?

Summary
One of the plentiful stories asking the simple question: What If?
What if Denji and Reze truly escaped together?Intended as a longterm story with elements of action, horror and a decent amount of drama, the ultimate focus is meant to be on an awkward romance, fluff, teenage angst and a fair amount of slice-of-runaway-life, as we experience the bond between Reze and Denji. Still, while presenting an alternate reality, it is supposed to follow the world of Chainsaw Man, as such, violence will play a strong role and threats like the Gun Devil do factor in.
Important disclaimer: While picking up where the movie left of, characters form the future of the manga (part 1 AND 2) will feature into the story sooner or later - whether or not they will still be spoilers for anime watchers remains to be seen and depends on how long the entire thing will end up becoming.
Spoilers for anime-only viewers will be warned of in advance of chapters as well.Tags will be updated as required - warnings for violence and sex are included upfront though, though when and to which degree these will effectively factor in remains to be seen.
