The letter is fairly short and straight to the point. Anything else that follows are just details about how the player can confirm their slot, unimportant things that Gold Ship can’t care less about when the love of her life is practically reading her goodbye.
She told herself she was going to be mature about this, it’s not a goodbye. It’s really not. But she knows, in the deep crevices of her heart, she wants this opportunity just as much as any other Umamusume.
Gold Ship sneaks a glance at McQueen. Even with the stupid lump in her throat, she wills herself to face her.
McQueen looks ecstatic. And Gold Ship’s heart breaks a little at the sight.
Or: Gold Ship is invited to an international racing team following her graduation from Tracen Academy and she decides to finally confront her feelings for McQueen and confess.

The name Mejiro is one of prestige amongst all. In Tracen Academy, hearing the name Mejiro doesn't strike fear, but a unique sense of nobility and shame only known by the trainees doing their best to compete for the number one title — as friendly as everyone can be, as down-to-earth as many of the family seem, it appears as if nobody sees the members of the Mejiro family as their own people, but as untouchable statues; Mejiro McQueen is no exception.

Gold Ship seems to completely disregard that fact about her, as if it's simply an attribute she has instead of a ball and chain keeping her down, like how McQueen sees it. It always frustrated her, especially when they first met, how could someone be so odd? How could someone treat her as if they were friends of a lifetime, sharing toys and stories ever since they were young? Gold Ship has always been unpredictable, an oddity that the most patient can barely hold in place.
Mejiro McQueen doesn't understand Gold Ship, ever.

She jogs to the door, half-contemplating the idea of making her guest wait until the agreed-upon time—an idea quickly abandoned as the image of a black-and-white puppy pitifully scratching at the door flashes through her mind. For no particular reason, of course. She swings it open, a bit more forcefully than she otherwise might have in her frustration.
“Why are you here?!” she exclaims the moment Arlecchino’s tall figure comes into view. She’s dressed in a simple, well-tailored suit—less elaborate than her usual attire, but no less striking in its elegance.
Her girlfriend only blinks—not quite startled, but perhaps her closest approximation to it.
“...Have we recently broken up without my noticing?”

Turns out that having a job, whether as a god or as a human, severely limits one's “wallowing in misery” time. What a scam.
