It’s dark outside by the time Alhaitham arrives at his front door. He reaches into his pocket for his house key, slides it into the lock, but there’s no clicking sound as it turns.
He steps inside and just as he expected, the house is dark save for Kaveh’s desk lamp when he opens the door and steps inside. He removes his headphones and sets them down on the entryway table. The house is quiet. Too quiet.
“Kaveh?”

Big, fluffy snowflakes slowly drift from the sky, weaving through leafless tree branches and falling upon the fresh snow below. Stelle holds a mug of hot chocolate, keeping her hands warm while the cold wind howls outside. Frost creeps from the edges of the window towards the centre, blurring her view of the wintery storm.
It has been an abnormally cold Christmas Eve, and slowly, sleep starts to catch up to her. She closes her eyes, and the last thing she remembers is the wind howling against the frosty window.

Rain falls in torrential downpour, creating a cold and heavy haze over the Opera Epiclese. Neuvillette watches the sea's surface bubble in anguish as hundreds of thousands of raindrops pelt it like bullets. The roaring wind pulls at his soaked jacket, and the rain makes his long, braided hair cling to his back.
And even then it is still too quiet.
There is not enough noise in the world to fill the deafening silence that Wriothesley has left behind.
