Summary
"I'm a difficult person to love, Clark," Bruce says quietly, turning away from him to stare at some indistinct point across the cave. He's building a wall with that single sentence. Clark can feel it rise between them, made of stone and old grief. "I don't recommend it." He makes a small, humorless sound, as if that entire statement were some kind of punchline he's only just now understanding.
"Who asked for a recommendation?" Clark's reply comes out sharper than he intended, raw and a little too honest. "I'm a big boy, Bruce. I can make my own decisions."
(Or, as it turns out, Clark's feelings aren't as unrequited as he previously believed.)

“I did not need to know this about Kal… and I think I owe Hal $50.”

In a bid to be more open with the League, and to win Clark's trust back, Bruce decides to reveal his civilian identity to the team. What he fails to take into account is Brucie Wayne's very public love life – at the centre of which is his relationship with Metropolis' own Clark Kent – and the childishness of the League when it comes to inter-office romances.

Bruce lazily glances in his direction. But something about it feels dangerous. Wrong. Fractured.
Clark swallows hard. “You’ve been getting hurt alot.” In fact, Bruce’s torso is a disastrous motley of purple, green and yellow. Various bruises in various stages of healing. "You can’t go on like this.”
Bruce snips the thread. He puts down the scissors and lifts a glass half full of dark liquor. He swirls it once slowly before gulping the entire glass down. “Is that all?”
