    Summary

Yoo Joonghyuk turned back. Kim Dokja seemed to have given up on hiding the aftermath of someone else’s anger. The bruises that wrapped around Kim Dokja’s bony wrists felt like hands wrapped around Yoo Joonghyuk’s throat. He thought that he might be sick.

    “Hey murderer!” someone called out.

Yoo Joonghyuk thought that maybe, everyone else might be sick.

Kim Dokja is the son of a murderer and a new family doesn’t mean a better one.

    Summary

“Sorry for dragging you into this,” Kim Dokja bit his lip, hiding his face in Yoo Joonghyuk’s black, matted fur. “I’ll let you free when you don’t look like you are skin and bones, okay Puppy?”

Yoo Joonghyuk wants to point out that he’s a hypocrite, wants to push his face away, averse to touch as he is. But he does none of this. Instead, he shuts his eyes and lets Kim Dokja do whatever he wants.

He ignores the tears seeping into his fur.

OR - the fic in which Kim Dokja finds Yoo Joonghyuk, an injured werewolf in an alleyway, thinking it was a puppy and cares for him.

“Who do you think is ‘the person he loves the most?’”

Flashes of pale skin devoid of any marks which could be connected back to Yoo Joonghyuk crossed his mind.

    Not me.

This was the only answer he could give to her. Kim Dokja offered his life and death to him. His heart -however - would never belong to Yoo Joonghyuk.

    “He doesn’t bear my soulmark.”

This earned him a frown. “Just because you didn’t see it doesn’t mean-”

    “I checked.”

Lee Sookyung’s eyes widened in surprise. “How did you- nevermind.” Her hands moved as if to brush away the idea of Yoo Joonghyuk coming near her son. “Are you sure?”

    ------

In a universe where people's love is represented by a soulmark, Yoo Joonghyuk watches as Kim Dokja's skin remains devoid of any soulmark which could be connected to him.

He understood this trope easily. Isekai, he believed it was called. It was when a character was suddenly transported into a new or unfamiliar world. It was technically a subgenre of the widely popular fantasy genre.

And now, Kim Dokja was that character transported into a new world, though it wasn't unfamiliar.

    Summary

He learns of lots of things that these people say his older self has experienced in the apocalypse: kindness, companionship, strength, family, love, sacrifice; all things they say the older him has provided to them.

(He's not sure he believes it.)

They seem to know him too well to the point that it scares him a bit, listing things they couldn't possibly know if they didn't; his hate for tomatoes, his tendency to lie with a straight face, his love for stories; even predicting correctly that his favorite food will be murim dumplings, once he tries them. They try very hard not to overwhelm him, but both the praise and insult they give him remain unchanging, time and time again.

The person they describe— it doesn't sound like him. Like anything he could possibly be.

(And yet, it's a fact that they're here, waiting for that person to come back to them. It's comforting, and frightening at the same time; both an assurance and an expectation.)

(or: Kim Dokja, and the mortifying ordeal of being loved)
