Summary
Being a senior and the volleyball ace of the school, Vi had a small number of priorities: perform just well enough in her classes so that she doesn't lose her scholarship for university, and to win more matches for the school. She has no time or energy for anything else that goes around. She certainly is not interested in this new student that's coming to their school in the middle of the damned semester and she's getting really annoyed with how no one seems to shut up about this new kid who is not even there half of the time.
However, there is something odd about this new girl. Vi notices that, while not present, the others are always talking about her, one way or another. She refuses to get involved with someone like her, until one day, fate puts them face to face with one another.
Or: the long-awaited caitvi high school au where two different girls slowly fall in love with each another.

The woman sitting across the table inhaled deeply. Caitlyn looked up from her laptop just in time to see the woman glance up from her phone and turn to look out the window, blue eyes sparkling under golden rays, the gentlest smile blossoming across her face, before she exhaled a small huff of laughter.
Caitlyn stared at her, tracing the angles of her face accented by sunlight, gaze lingering on the tattoo on her cheek before slipping down to the tender smile on her lips, the knuckles of her loose fist ghosting against them.
And she couldn’t help but wonder who it was that could make this stranger smile so radiantly and carefreely; who could cut through all the noise of the bustling coffee shop and draw her into a world of her own.
It was a feeling she recognised; it was a feeling she hadn't felt in a long time.

‘I promise you, Vi: she’s the real deal.’
Vi rocks back in her chair, folding her arms and pursing her lips. Her gut is normally trustworthy, and her gut is yelling at her to run the fuck away from this one.
But the tour is only days away. Tickets aren't selling, and from what she can see on social media it's because people are worried they're just going to cancel from the lack of a bass guitarist. Her options have been dwindling rapidly, and the only one she has left now is on her producer's desk, peering up at her from glossy stock paper, looking as unimpressed by the situation as Vi feels.
She rocks forwards again, staring hard at the image. This woman — this Caitlyn — is holding the guitar comfortably between her hands, her fingers are positioned correctly along its strings, and Vi supposes that perhaps it's not all carefully-styled bluster.
This is gonna be nothing but trouble, she thinks bitterly.

Vi watched as Caitlyn eeked out a tired smile, standing up to meet him. She stood on her tiptoes to reach his lips as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.
The enforcer rolled her eyes as she rewrapped her hand for the second time that morning. She'd promised Caitlyn that she respected their relationship, she was her partner, her closest friend and the only person she trusted. If she was happy then so was Vi. At least, that's what she told herself. -

The Piltover accent caught the boxer off guard as she spun around to glance over her shoulder. And of course, an absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, indigo-haired girl with legs for miles was standing right before her with her arms crossed over her chest. Her icy blue eyes sparkled beneath the warm afternoon light that poured through the tall glass windows.
And shit, why did that uniform have to be so goddamn tight and hug her hips perfectly.
So naturally, Vi did what she did best.
