Summary
It’s rather jarring to wake in the Halls of Healing when one does not remember how they came to be there. It’s even more jarring to wake in the Halls of Healing to learn that you have been asleep there for four years, and that during that time, your padawan has left the Order, the galaxy has broken out into war, the Jedi have become war heroes, your padawan has left you, the Sith have returned, the Republic is under attack, and Anakin Skywalker will not return your comm calls.
After Obi-Wan Kenobi wakes, he has little choice but to move on. There is a war to be fought. There are battles to be won. There is a new Sith lord named Vader who has taken an inexplicable but undeniable interest in him. Untangling the hurt and anger he feels at Anakin’s absence from his life will simply have to wait.

For that is Obi-Wan sitting on the bed, hunched over, eyes red-rimmed, hands trembling and radiating exhaustion – but alive, alive, alive.
Or: In the wake of Order 66, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan pretend to be a mated alpha and omega pair to smuggle Luke to Tatooine. And it all goes great, except for the part where they both kind of wish it was real.

Summary
It's the most important event in an omega's life: the pearl ball, where every omega hopes to be claimed by an upstanding alpha. Obi-Wan, in contrast, just hopes to survive the night without becoming a target of ridicule or gossip, given House Kenobi's fall from grace.
It is safe to say, then, that when he strikes up a conversation with Qui-Gon Jinn, Duke of Serenno and celebrated war general, he most certainly is not expecting for that conversation to end with Duke Jinn laying claim to him.
