Izaya will admit that as much as he despises Shizuo, he does get a thrill from their chases, from dancing at the edge of a cliff. He’ll admit that he occasionally causes problems for the monster on purpose, knowing it will lead to a fight.
He won’t admit that the thrill coursing through him when Shizuo chases, when he glares at Izaya with feral intensity and destroys half the city in pursuit, is more than just adrenaline.
But when Shizuo finally catches him, long-buried desires are dragged out by those monstrous hands.

Summary
Izaya never expected everything to end like this... he was a God, and now his reign was crumbling beneath him. It happened so suddenly and now it was coursing through his veins. It's a shame he didn't have the chance to see who was the one to do it. Whoever killed the great Izaya Orihara will get away with it.
Just like the fireworks, he was going to fade away. Nothing more than a brief bang of noise and colour... then nothing. Only a smoke trail would remain and the only proof after that was left in the memory.
It was upsetting, but the silverlining was the drug stripped him of such energy... laying down and prepared for his final moments... Izaya resolves to endure them alone. What a way to ring in the new year...

His eyes lock onto Yuuta’s once again, a tinge of fear evident in his tightened brow and pursed mouth. His alarmed, violet eyes fill the unspoken words, pleading for Yuuta to follow as the curse forces him to round the next corner over, out of sight.
Yuuta shivered, his blood boiling over. The glint in his eyes denies the curse any opportunity for mercy. He's going to rip that curse to shreds, going to make it wish it had never been fabricated into reality, to make it regret ever having thought about touching Toge.

Maki's completely mistaken. There’s nothing overly possessive in how Yuuta treats Toge. He's protective of all his friends, Maki included. If Toge receives a little special attention, well, it’s only natural. They’re third year students now—they pretty much only fight the highest level curses—which means Toge’s throat weathers a lot more backlash. If Yuuta’s always quick to heal him afterwards, it’s only because it hurts Yuuta to see him in pain.
