Kaveh is an inventor. He invents mechanical robots, closets that choose your clothing for the day, little suitcases that beep and warble. He enjoys drawing architectural plans, and he enjoys watching his creations come to fruition. It is his greatest joy. So when a dead king’s spirit curses him never to create anything ever again, his very purpose and pride is ripped from him.
Along the way, Kaveh will meet Sage Al-Haitham, the mysterious outcast of the Akademiya, and he will learn more about the magic Sumeru holds in store for him.

The only thing more difficult than completing a mission in a nation where Childe is hated, is completing a mission in a nation where he’s being threatened with imminent deportation.
Out of alternatives and with failure not an option, the only way he can hope to remain in Liyue is by entering a relationship with one of its residents. He can think of only one person eccentric enough to go along with such a suggestion.
OR: The inherent awkwardness of undertaking a secret mission while falling in love with the guy you’re fake dating for your residency permit.

beautifully written! i adore the dynamic between childe and zhongli and how they bounce off each other's banter, the writing flows naturally and doesn't stray from canon lore (i srsly love when they remain true to the events but ofc add the fanfic's storyline)! the chasm being an integral part of this story is also rlly interesting as it also helps flesh out tartaglia more and add to his family man personality!
final rating: 9/10, point taken bc it made me sad :'(

Those are some of the first words Ajax, starving college student extraordinaire, has the misfortune of hearing upon waking up in a brave new world from what he's fairly sure is a very fatal accident involving water and a shit ton of electricity.
Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?
