"No," Kon whispered, shaking his head. "No, I wasn't right. I was a jerk—"
"It's handled," Tim interrupted, his voice still flat. "I've taken care of it. All of it."

"It won't hurt anymore," Tim said, and for a fleeting second, there was something in his eyes. A flicker of profound, unsettling certainty. "It won't hurt anyone. Ever again."

Kon has been dead for 2 years. Tim tried and failed to clone him, and once Kon is resurrected and finds out he is repulsed.

After the Death of Jason Todd, [M/N] hung up his cape and switch lanes. He had been Bruce's support, when Gotham Children Services needed Bruce to shape up after Dick's parent's death then they got married. The only get the house ready was in the form of [M/N], his closest piece.
When Bruce arrived to the academy after his parents death, he met [M/N] and sought him out to give him peace. Bruce having given what was enough to his husband who loved him dearly, and yet kept himself out of finger-tip reach. Now after many years, [M/N] was wearing down himself, his marriage and his kids. Oh, his kids, his Kids who began taking after Bruce in ways that broke [M/N]'s heart. Maybe they viewed him in a way like an object, that he will always be there and they're right. Now after another missed birthday, [M/N] began to hear and feel things. His family says he's asking for attention, that it's nothing.
Until he finds a small door with an interesting key.

Summary
14 year old Tim Drake, omega heir of the Drakes has gone missing. Nobody knows this of course- his parents are in Dubai and will be for the next few months.
23 year old Dick Grayson, Alpha ward of Bruce Wayne has gone missing. His boss at the Bludhaven police station is very upset but nobody else seems to notice since Dick isn’t talking with Bruce right now while trying (and succeeding mind you) to establish himself as Nightwing.
Someone wants an heir, and it’s not the Wayne’s or the Drakes.
This is some really heavy stuff, the dove is friggin dead. Dick and Tim are forced to mate and they enjoy it, they both get super guilty for enjoying it and when they finally get rescued the moral issues of the situation get more complicated as Dick wants Tim to move on from him, and Tim does with Jason, but Tim does still love Dick. Endgame Tim/Dick/Jason (emphasis on Tim+Dick and Tim+Jason, not Dick+Jason they are more brothers in this and essentially combine forces to love Tim bc he deserves it and Tim loves them both)

Gotham City loved her protectors and held them tight, but there was only so much she could do when their drive to protect her took them out of her reach.

Tim was well known for being self sufficient. He didn't need help. Not when Dick took away Robin, not when he was kidnapped, and certainly not just because he didn't feel good. He knew better than to bother Batman with a Timothy Drake problem, just as Bruce doesn't bother Robin with a Bruce Wayne problem.
He would be fine. Even if it hurt.

Wind howled through the trees, rattling the iron gate behind him, and each gust sent icy water running down the back of his neck. He could barely hear his own footsteps over the storm, but he didn’t need to—he knew where he was going.
Wayne Manor loomed ahead, dark against the night sky, its towering silhouette broken only by the faint glow of a few scattered lights in the windows. The massive oak doors stood at the top of the stone steps, intimidating and unmoving, just as they had always been.
He should have brought an umbrella. Anyone with half a brain would have.
____Tim Drake knows he’s not like Batman, or like the old Robins. He’s not supposed to be.
But someone has to save Gotham, and someone has to remember why.

Tim doesn’t believe in heroes any more. He has no reason to. That fantasy is beyond him now.
Jason Peter Wayne-Todd is dead. Robin, the Boy Wonder, Batman's young partner… Tim’s idol… and his friend… has died. Tim had just gotten used to the idea of having a friend… and now that friend is dead. It's a fact at this point. A statistic.
Robin is Dead.
But Batman NEEDS a Robin. And since Jason died for the Crusade, since Jason LIVED for it... Tim's gonna protect that legacy no matter what. Tim's world might be ending, but he's going to ensure that Gotham stays standing in the aftermath.***
A stand alone Tim Drake becoming Robin story that follows his struggle to become an adequate replacement for the hero that he idolized - one that doesn't make him an athletic prodigy, or magic him into being awesome. This is a story that takes the grit and determination (and mild psychosis and penchant for obsessiveness) that naturally makes him awesome and shows how he applies that to becoming worthy of the Robin mantle.
It fits into the AU of this series (where Tim and Jason met while Jason was Robin), but it can easily be read without the others.
