Chihiro recalls how just this afternoon, Char had thoroughly trounced Hakuri at a game of Old Maid and gleefully took all his snacks as her winnings. “Really,” he goes.
“I’m serious,” Shiba insists.

(Red like the twine of fate, luck, blood—carnal; a mouth, a wound, the heart. End and beginning, life and death. Such were not his thoughts, which was likely a blessing, but such was nonetheless the truth.)

“I want to take care of—” Will mumbles, fumbling for gauze and bandages, his focus wavering. Mike notices the flush creeping up Will’s cheeks, bright and vivid against his otherwise pale, tired skin. And it warms something inside Mike, just a little, because Will wants to take care of him.

He groans, awoken by the annoying beeping and buzzing from the damn thing. Who the hell would call this late in the- What hour even is it!? He puts the thing to his ear, mentally cursing whoever is on the other side.
"My apartment blew up."
"The hell?" He sits up on his bed immediately, recognizing Azami's tired voice on the other side of the line. Not even a "Hello" or an attempt at any kind of formality, which to Shiba is a hint that Azami might be on the verge of having a mental breakdown. "'Zami, that you? What are you-"
"My apartment blew up." He says again. The exact same intonation, save that this one feels a bit more rushed. "Can I spend the night at yours?"

There are some great quick-and-dirty guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide
It's now 2025, a decade later. A03 supports some new HTML and and we're all walking around reading fic on supercomputers that fit in a jean pocket. It was time update this and take a crack at finishing it. (Links and Images are in, the new Audio and Video tags are not.)
The previous three chapters have been divided into smaller concepts. Each tag continues to have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example. Most tags have their attributes, things like [src] or [title], listed and examples of how using the attributes modify the tags.
There's a chapter on Bad Ideas, including how some of the archive's default CSS is available to you to format your work (users can't turn that off by hiding a workskin!)
Oh. And I added a bunny army. You could learn how to add one too.
