Summary
In the year 20XX, the world has adapted to the existence of doppelgangers, shape-shifting creatures that first appeared in 1955 and mysteriously vanished a decade later. Originally created to confront these dangers, the Doppelganger Detection Department (D.D.D.) has broadened its mission to safeguard against any peculiar or extraterrestrial entities. Increased doppelganger activity has recently prompted the D.D.D. to reactivate old protocols, and elite agents Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Hedgehog are called upon for a critical task.
Assigned as doormen to a peculiar apartment building in the D.D.D. safe zone, Rouge and Shadow are responsible for verifying the identities and entry papers of the residents. The building's atmosphere feels strange, and the residents' friendliness is tinged with secrecy...
