Summary
Akechi’s cognitive fortress is a sprawling labyrinth of traps and contradictions, hostile and alluring by turns. It has three rulers: a prince, a monster, and an outlaw. None of them can seem to decide whether they want to shut Joker out or keep him forever. And Joker can’t decide if he wants to beat them at their games, or let himself be caught.
He thought he’d never see Akechi again after the collapse of Maruki’s reality. Now he sees him more deeply than he ever has before. And while that’s challenging, heartbreaking, and maddening all at once, it’s also a thrill he can’t get enough of. But as usual for him and Akechi, they’re on borrowed time. If he can’t solve the mysteries of Akechi’s heart, and quickly, he’ll lose his only chance to bring Akechi back to the real world, alive and whole.
And he would sooner let the entire Metaverse collapse on his head than leave without Akechi this time.

Summary
Yaldabaoth decides to rig the game in an entirely different way, and the Phantom Thieves are created without Joker. Meanwhile, Ren Amamiya, who has been inexplicably turned into a ghost, decides to help out the strange and slightly unhinged detective Akechi Goro.
(I would rate this around T/M. There shouldn't be anything that is worse than canon.)
