It was an incredibly anticlimactic end to my tale, but it wasn’t as if destiny… as if this story… really needed me anymore. Summary

She's careful about where she puts her feet, Phoenix notes, despite the casual tone. It makes for a slightly awkward stance, how she steps to avoid every square of carpet Mia's body once touched. "I'd’ve thought you got rid of all this shit years ago!"
