Summary
"What I don't understand," Spock began, stepping in front of Jim with fluid grace, stopping the younger man in his tracks, "is the need for humans to continuously lie to someone when both parties know the truth." Spock's gaze all but drilling a hole into Jim and leaving him exposed to the open air. There was something almost vulnerable in the directness of his stare, as if he were asking a question that went far deeper than the surface accusation.
The courtyard was deserted, a few straggling cadets and the small population of squirrels were the only living things in the proximity besides the two of them. The isolation felt deliberate, as if Spock had chosen this moment and place with careful consideration. Jim sidestepped the Vulcan, suddenly feeling like prey. "I don't know what you are talking about, Spock." he spoke, making a beeline down the path towards the senior dorm rooms.
"On the contrary, I am well aware of your knowledge of the nature of the relationships our counterparts shared." Jim's steps faltered as he turned towards Spock. The Vulcan's voice carried a weight of certainty that made denial seem pointless.

Summary
Kirk sits down and stuffs a couple of pieces of bacon into his mouth with his fingers and then uses a piece of toast to sop up the delicious runny egg yolks. Spock's mouth tightens minutely, which Kirk translates into meaning 'I am completely disgusted with you right now.' Normally Kirk would become self-conscious when Spock graces him with that look, but this is bacon. Bacon trumps all feelings of self-consciousness.
“I still do not understand why you feel the need to take the test for the third time. T'hy'la, you are aware that I created the simulation so that all participants who take it, will fail?”
Kirk swallows the last of his food and glances across the table to where Spock is sitting.
“Nothing is unbeatable, Ashayam. This test is no different to any other test. There is a correct answer and I am going to find it.”
Spock sighs.
“I have created this test, and I assure you, t’hy’la, there is no solution. However, I know I cannot squash your human optimism.”A sequel to 'Private Tutoring' that follows the events of the first movie.
