Summary

Summary
After what felt like a millennia of heaving the little his stomach had to give, Leo managed to pull himself up from his curled up position over the toilet and righted himself. It took another minute or so of slow breathing to get the will to attempt to stand up. Once progress was made the next mission was to get back to the engine room. All Leo wanted to do was curl up in his makeshift bed and wallow in his storm of pity in peace.

“Wings?” Piper repeated, eyes wide as she focused on Annabeth’s upper back, at the two bumps on her shoulder blades.
“Yeah.” The blonde affirms with a smirk. “It’s an Athena kid thing, y’know. But unfortunately, it’s physically impossible for them to actually, well, sprout.” Annabeth makes a gesture to enunciate her words. “Well, unless I was a god, I guess.” She muses, before shrugging. “Not like that’s gonna happen, so…”The rest of the conversation was meaningless, but that one line offered on a whim caught in gold to watching eyes.
Annabeth shouldn’t have tempted the fates like that.
She made it far too easy.
But of course, it wasn’t just her. Couldn’t just be her.

Summary
For the first time in 7 years Leo was going to a regular mortal school after leaving Camp Half Blood only to fight in a literal war last summer. Now his best friend is very obviously a demigod (And doesn't know it). All he could do was hope that they lasted to Christmas break so he could take her to camp. But that's seeming less and less likely as they head towards the Grand Canyon for this field trip and the weather is getting worse.
He ran through his list of mythical people on this trip: Leo, Piper, Hedge, Jason. Wait. Leo doesn't know a Jason. And Jason doesn't know him. Shit.
or: Leo went to Camp Half Blood when his mom died, and has lived there nearly as long as Annabeth. Now that the Titan War is over, he's decided to try going into the mortal world again. Unfortunately, the mythical world won't leave him alone.
