Summary
Even before joining the Company, Kakavasha has always been protective of his loved ones. Years later, a young doctor he met at the Pier Point social club has caught his interest, and he'll be damned if he loses him to any potential competition or to any of the enemies he has made during his tenure with the Company.
When the Family begins encroaching on Company interests and territory, he begins considering what measures to take in order to keep his dear doctor safe by his side. Will Veritas understand this is all for him? Though it matters little if Veritas understands his reasoning or not, he would sooner paint the city crimson than allow harm to come to what is his.
For Kakavasha, this life has always been a game of life and death, but Veritas does not belong to the underworld like him. Is he willing to risk it all for a man who does not live in the same world as him?

Summary
Lieutenants Kakavasha S. Aventurine and Veritas Ratio have been colleagues for some time, but have yet to investigate a shared case. With the death of a local public relations representative, the two find themselves hunting down a killer. Working side by side for the first time, will they grow closer? Maybe too close?
Aventurine has always admired the other, but there is a fine line between admiration and obsession. What happens when he finds himself resisting the urge to follow in the culprit's footsteps? His crumbing mind justifying it as for the sake of his coworker? If Veritas knew how far he'd go for him, would he still allow Aventurine to stay by his side? If Veritas rejected him, he could lose everything. For Aventurine, this gambling with life and death could yield the greatest of rewards or the most devastating of losses. With stakes this high, he was playing the game for all or nothing.

Unless, of course…” He tips his head forward, a playful smirk on his face. “I courted you, Prince Mydei?”
A loud gasp in front of them followed by a series of even louder gasps behind them painfully reminds him that they are, in fact, very much in public. He doesn’t need to look around to know that everyone nearby has stopped to watch.
There’s no way Phainon actually forgot the world existed around them. He did this on purpose to mess with him, didn’t he? Mydei knows he’s utterly shameless, but this takes the cake.

In which Wriothesley, owner of a wildlife rescue and sanctuary, rescues a weird-looking not-gopher in a pool, which leads him down a strange mystery involving a government conspiracy, an illegal smuggling ring, and a Iudex that has disappeared from the office, sending Fontaine in a frenzy. Little does he know, the missing Iudex Neuvillette is a lot closer to him than he realizes.
(All he has to do is look closer at the fluffy otter creature currently curled against his chest, shamelessly using his pecs as his pillow.)

In a moment of intense emotion, Neuvillette looses control of his powers and Wriothesley finds himself transforming into the form of the one creature that Neuvillette longs to take.
