Sora wasn't sure, though, if all of him came back. Riku wasn't either, teetering on the fine edge of too much, too little, and nothing ever being said — all of it overwhelming like static scraping against his skin.
Sometimes, just to make it all go quiet, Riku would reach to touch Sora. Just to remind himself this was real, this was true, and that the past wasn't just nightmares.

Summary
Their skins were so close that Sora could feel the warmth coming off Riku’s, could feel the soft and tiny hairs that already touched. Maintaining eye contact, Sora closed the final inch.And the thing that had felt off-balance inside of him ever since they returned suddenly seemed to slot into place. Something tense that Sora hadn’t realised was there unwound, and that needy feeling he had been having for so long now suddenly felt eased, like the relief of drinking a large glass of cold water on a really hot day.

Summary
When Sora rushes out of his GummiShip and into Riku's arms, crying profusely, Riku takes Sora to his room and discovers that the primary issue seems to simply be that Sora is sick of being away from Riku for such long stretches of time. Sora's solution is that they run away together, but Riku doesn't take that too seriously.
However, after the two go on a date in Twilight Town, Riku discovers that Sora is truly serious about running away when Sora finds Merlin, convinces him to teleport them to Radiant Garden, and then steals a GummiShip from Cid's junkyard!

Sora can’t sleep.
It’s no wonder, after everything they’ve been through, but Riku hates to be faced with yet another problem he can’t fix. All he can do is be there for Sora while they’re both strangers in their own homes, too far-removed from the mundane life of the Destiny Islands to fit in anymore.
Then again, maybe it’s enough just to stay by Sora’s side. Maybe, for just one night, they can find a home in each other.

Torch cleared his throat, a hoarse cough that scratched and clawed at his pharynx in a battle to fight off the days of disuse. “Just how far are you willing to go to get information about the camp out of me, Nova? It’s pointless. I told them that if I wasn’t back in three days then they needed to move on.” He leant as far towards Nova as his chains would allow – a taunt, a challenge. “I couldn’t tell you where they went even if I wanted to.”
Nova laughed, deep and resounding as opposed to the coy chuckle he usually let slip around Torch. “You have it all wrong, my dear Torchbearer. The camp is of no interest to me. The other Bishops are learning, they don’t have the thirst for information that I do.” He stepped into Torch’s space, his robed figure looming above. “They’re asking easy questions, ones that you are well practiced to resist. You see, sweet angel, they simply do not understand you like I do.”

Summary
What had been his blessing is a double-edged sword. Normal Dream Eaters fed on Nightmares and affinity. Riku, as Sora’s Dream Eater specifically, fed on his alone. Tore his way through Sora’s fear and despair, drew on the golden bond between them to feed on Sora’s friendship – his own personal, sweet-tasting affinity.
With Sora’s absence, he’s powerless to stop the gaping emptiness that gnaws at his stomach, his heart. The frayed end of their connection desperately aching for the other half of their heartsong.
It’s draining him from the inside out.
What good is a Dream Eater without his dreamer?
Riku, his grief, and a hunger that is never satisfied.
