Summary
Grian won Thirdlife.
Sure it was against his will and he hated it, but he won.
And now that he's had his win, he's going to make sure Scar does too. And he'll do whatever it takes to make it happen.
ORRR:
The Watcher hummed, almost thoughtful, before speaking again, “You want him to win? Do it again. You have the power to afterall. You can bring those players into that world again and again until you get the ending you want. All I need, is a simple yes.”
The thought made Grian feel sick. Bring those players back? Force them to die over and over again simply because he didn’t get the outcome he wanted? It was selfish–it was cruel–it was…
But Scar.
It was all he could focus on-flooding his senses and memories before he even realized it. Scar laughing in the sun, leaning against him as they ate, calling his name like it was the safest thing in the world.
An unnatural anger shot through him, sudden and overwhelming. Scar should have won. He should have been happy. He should have lived.
And before he knows it, Grian is nodding.
“Yes–again. We can do it again. Put us there again.”

Grian shifted again—another small movement, a thoughtless roll of his hips as he resettled. The bed creaked faintly beneath them, the sound sharp in the hush. Grian froze for half a second, then relaxed, deciding it was probably fine. If anything, it helped the illusion.
Scar, on the other hand, went very still.
His jaw tightened, eyes closing briefly as he took a slow breath, hands remaining firmly—but respectfully—at Grian’s sides. When he spoke again, his voice was even, almost too controlled. “Hey,” he said gently, breathlessly, “maybe— maybe don’t move like that.”
Grian blinked. “Oh—sorry.” He flushed, immediately trying to still himself, hands pressing into Scar’s shoulders for balance. “Did I—?”
Before Scar could answer—
BANG BANG BANG.

When a plan hatches for Grian to pretend to be Scar’s partner at his mother’s ‘Christmas Extravaganza’, Grian realises that fake love feels an awful lot like the real thing—especially when everyone else believes it already is.

I think I cried more times than I can count-both happy and throughly broken ngl. This was one of the most fantastically written, stylistic, emotional, and eye-opening pieces I’ve ever read. 100% recommend to anybody who needs a good cry, an adorable and heart melting ending, or a good reminder of the little things in life we all forget. Thank you for bringing this masterpiece to life-I hope it hits someone else just as hard as it hit me (it’s like I got my own ribs punched out, my flesh cradled by the moon-and my soul stitched by stars in thread, seriously).
Love you-your work-your attitude-your genius-and your willingness to be so open about what is clearly personal to you. I’m glad that in a world of robots, we still have humans connecting and forever showing them up. <3

But because of those attempts, another faction of the Council rose against the Watchers: the Listeners. They foiled the Watchers' plans, and wiped out much of Their race.
Now just two remain. Two of the highest among Their previously bountiful ranks. And Their pet project. An unwilling apprentice.AKA A Watcher Grian fic in which the Watchers took his hearing. Other than that, it proceeds much the same as any other Watcher Grian fic.
