Summary
"Your eye." Mike breathed out. He was so close to Will that his breath fanned on will's lips, causing goosebumps to spread down his chest. Mike's eyes trailed downwards to where Will cradled his injured fist, "your hand-! Will, what happened?"
Mike's hand replaced Will's own and gently cradled it, mindful of the injury it sustained not too long ago. It made Will's throat dry, his nervous swallow an embarrassing audible 'click'.
"Mike, I-" He trailed off, looking down at his vans, then back up into the beautiful, dangerous abyss that was Mike's eyes. He swallowed around a painfully dry throat once more, "...I think something's wrong with me."

Summary
As they carefully make their way to the water’s edge, watching their feet so they don’t step on anything too sharp, Mike glances sideways at Will with his trademark smirk and asks, “How many times do you think we can call each other baby before we really piss Lucas off?”
Will puts on his best serious face and looks Mike in the eye as he says solemnly, “I don’t know, but I think it’s our duty as his best friends to find out.”
This makes Mike smile for real, with his teeth, which of course makes Will smile involuntarily. A full Mike Wheeler smile is harder to earn these days, which makes Will love them more when he gets one.
Mike sets their towels down by the others’ and with a beer in each hand spins to present his back to Will. Loudly enough so his voice carries across the water he says, “Hop on, baby, I’ll carry you in.”
