Summary
“You want us to foster a kid?” Mike finally asks, disbelieving. Will is half convinced that El will laugh in their faces, clearing up the misunderstanding with a, “No, silly. I want you to water my plants.”
“It doesn’t have to be forever,” El says. “Just until I can find another home for him. I can’t stand him living in the shelter anymore. Not right now. He needs emotional support. And don’t lie to me— I know you two have been wanting kids. This can be a trial run.”
—
Will and Mike are tasked with fostering an emotionally distant, judgmental, sassy twelve-year-old boy from El’s shelter. As hard as they try to win his heart, they seem to be making no progress. After all, how could two strangers earn the trust of a boy who’s been hurt time and time again?

He needed to feel something, he needed to be reassured that he was still alive. He needed to believe that this wasn’t eternal, even if that meant he was wilfully naive.

Summary
The hope was that Vecna was dead, because a portal to Hell splitting Hawkins down the middle was a kinder reality than the one they lived in. Max had woken up, after all, so maybe miracles do happen, and whatever took place during Spring Break was the end of it. Luck was never on their side, though.
The anniversary of Will's disappearance looms over them, like a guillotine in the form of a ticking clock. They knew well enough that all it takes is one night for everything to go wrong. The crawl goes off-script, Hopper is M.I.A., and the Wheeler's house is in ruin.
Maybe what they need is a return to form; maybe Will needs to go back there, to the Upside Down, himself, to get the answers they're looking for.
Or;
The events of November 1987 are retold through the eyes of The Party, because it should have ended how it started.

Summary
Will's footsteps are silent as he creeps into view of the group. They don't spot him at first, half of them prodding at the dead Children on the floor, checking for life, while the others stare terrified at the girl, tears staining their cheeks as they breathe shakily.The girl looks from the dead Child at her feet to the burly man in front of her. She opens her mouth to answer, but Will seizes her chance.
"Found you." He snarls, a smirk spreading across his face.
or the one where will byers was never found, a giant crack just opened between the upside down and hawkins, and he has one task: find the girl.
