Summary
Often, what you remember isn’t an image. Not a flash when you blink. Not a moment of clarity that flees your attention.
It’s usually more abstract. Memories are sensations, tied up together.
A touch that makes you remember a color.
A sound that makes you remember a feeling.
A taste that makes you remember a smell.
“What are you thinking, Elster?” Ariane asks, curled against my side and very naked. “What are you thinking, right now?”
And the words leave my lips before I can even attempt to grasp them, “I want a cigarette.”

Summary
Lara...she's…she's calm, she's quiet, she's kinda introverted but has this loud fiery side that only really comes out when she's into something. She talks about mythology, archeology, and anthropology-- and she fucking glows! She shines when she's in her element. And she's *kind*. That has always been Sam's first word to describe Lara Croft. Gentle, considerate, and *kind*.
But here, in front of her, is irrefutable proof that Lara can kill people without blinking. That she can decide that an entire group of people needs to die in order for the people Lara cares about to be safe.
And Sam doesn’t know which one is the real Lara. She doesn’t know if she can be both at once, or if this new, killer-Lara has overwritten Sam’s best friend.
And Sam doesn't know how to help her.
But the worst part? The part that scares her even more than those fucking lunatics?
She isn't even sure Lara wants to be helped.

Summary
She's missed this.
Lara hasn't been at Uni too terribly long yet, just a single year, but what a year it's been. So much has happened, so much has changed. There are a hundred different events from this past year she could think back on, so many things she could remember as important.
And yet, all she can think about is that ridiculous haircut and that devil-may-care smile.
But Lara...well, she isn't the most well-adjusted person, socially speaking, and she doesn't know how to deal with the way Sam makes her feel. She has *questions*, and there's only one person in her life that she knows to go to for advice.
But before she can ask Roth anything, she has to tell him about Sam. About their friendship.
And for reasons beyond her comprehension, Lara finds that idea *terrifying*.

Summary
Lara sniffles as Sam takes the warm rag away. She looks absolutely miserable, but she asks like it's the simplest thing in the world, "...can you…sing for me?"
Her voice is slurred so bad it's absurd, and Sam almost misses the request. Her brain stalls in her head. Skips, like a broken record.
She nearly laughs, but her heart is going too wild for her to manage anything more than a rough exhale. She doesn't know what to do or say here. After all, she's drunk too. Way less than Lara, but still way too drunk to have any chance at rationalizing this.
But it's her heart that eventually un-freezes her. She smiles, and it's a soft, drunk thing, "Lara, honey, you know I can't sing to save my life."
That should've been the end of it. They both know she can't sing for shit, and it's just one of those dumb requests drunk people make when they've had way too much and feel awful. If she were half as drunk as she is now, Lara would laugh, smile, and say 'oh, yeah, right. Please don't, I don't need a case of tinnitus'.
That isn't what happens, though.
No, instead, Lara looks up at her with those big, kind eyes, and asks, "...could you sing to save mine?"

In which a surprise snowstorm after an unnecessarily stressful mission forces Blake and Yang to take shelter for the night in a hunter's lodge. Their relationship is in a weird place where Yang is pretty sure she likes Blake and is pretty sure Blake likes her back, but she's terrified of messing everything up again. They're both already happy, why shake up the status quo? Last thing Yang needs to do is kick the beehive.

Summary
Neither of them questioned the instinct. Neither of them wondered why Sam thought she felt safe in Lara's arms, or why the feeling of Sam's deep breaths seemed to soothe away even the deepest of Lara's fears.
They just knew they needed each other, on some deep, base level, and they were both too exhausted to fight the urge.
Set in the immediate aftermath of the first game, in which both Lara and Sam are too wired to sleep. Lara’s paranoid and Sam is scared, but…somewhere, deep inside, they know what they need, and they are too tired to resist the instinct. After all, sleep is better when they share it.

She's the one who Weiss ran to on the night Beacon Fell.
Weiss has been through so much, Yang and Blake have been through so much. Jaune, Nora, and Ren lost a member of their team. Ruby has to be there for them, she needs to help them! Her own problems can wait.

It's so easy to forget that Ruby is just as human as the rest of them, so easy that Ruby herself forgets it from time to time. When you are the person who everyone turns to for help, who helps you?

Aboard Manta 5-1 with engines screaming for Atlas and with a few hours of peace and quiet, Weiss reminisces on a particularly fond memory from her past, even as anxiety about her team's future grips her. A hundred different futures rush through her mind, a hundred different things Atlas might put her team through. As fear grips her heart, a memory comes to her, from Beacon, of her first and only Halloween, the day she and her partner became best friends. That's why she was doing this, after all. Why she wasn't a million miles from Atlas right now. Ruby needed her, and she needed Ruby. For her best friend, she would do anything, even this. Well, anything except call Ruby her best friend that is.

Summary
Yang valued simplicity in things. Thing is, simple words aren't always enough. She would like to call Blake simply pretty, beautiful, even. She would like to call her eyes yellow, her body athletic, her hair black, but just wasn't enough. They didn't capture Blake through Yang's eyes, they didn't hold the same meaning. At times like these, when Blake was on all fours above Yang on their bed, staring down at her with that calm but oh-so-dangerous expression on her face, Yang knew that Blake's beauty was haunting, and no other word could word could properly define Blake.
Heavily inspired by Y8ay8a's work, both her art and her writing. Seriously, if you like the Bees and haven't seen her stuff, go check that out first on here and Tumblr. I hope I did it justice.
