Summary
The Fellowship's flight to the Ford of Bruinen fails when they can't get Frodo and the pony safely up the saw-toothed ridge that blocks their way to the Road. Forced to follow the long and desperate paths leading up into the mysterious Ettendales, they find help and sanctuary beyond hope in a strange and idyllic northern valley. Summary
