There was no way to know that they existed - the group known as the Four Horsemen.
They kept themselves hidden, stayed underground and covered their tracks by using one of their members to wipe any digital trace of them away. Dr Cressida Stiel. Pestilence. The Ghost of Princeton.
In 2005 she was supposed to have died in a fire. A body left behind in the ash to cover her disappearance. Then in 2006 the FBI was hacked, almost no trace was left except for a message on Dr Spencer Reid’s computer. A message of disjointed words, ending with ‘help’. It wasn’t until a few months later that he found out that it was Cressida.
And that she wasn’t a Horseman by choice.
Six years after her faked death she runs to the FBI, turning herself in for questioning. But when you have lived years in fear and anxiety, it makes it difficult to trust others. Even when the team tries to sway her to help, the only person she can open up to is Reid.
But what will happen after the three remaining Horsemen are caught?
If they are ever caught?

James Barnes and Anastasia Morozov were similar in many ways, and possibly the only people on the planet who understood each other. Both having a past with HYDRA and experiments, being used and brainwashed and broken. It was no real surprise that they first met on the battlefield in Wakanda, or that the first time they spoke was after she broke into his apartment to avoid knocking on the door.
They were friends by the time they joined the fight against the Flag Smashers, but it's hard to tell in between the fighting if they can become more. Especially since Sam won't seem to leave them alone.
Three is, after all, a crowd.

After Haley was killed, Aaron Hotchner believed he wasn't supposed to find love again. Losing Beth due to circumstances outside of his control seemed to prove that theory.
Caitlin Vasquez gave up on the idea of love long before it could be proven to her. Her long list of situationships only proved her hypothesis.
But when Cait's best friend joins the BAU, and an opportune meeting takes place during an inter-unit case, they both feel the foundations of their own beliefs shift.
Cait starts to think that just because she comes from a broken family, doesn't mean she can't find her own whole one. And Aaron starts to think that maybe, just maybe, there might be something left in him to give to someone else.

SSA Koraline Thompson wanted to join the BAU the second she read one of David Rossi's books. When she's handed the golden opportunity to fill in for Agent Morgan during his six month recovery, she takes it without hesitation. What she didn't expect was to befriend the gorgeous genius with comforting brown eyes and an entire encyclopaedia in his head.
Dr Spencer Reid had been in the BAU for almost twelve years. He'd seen his fair share of agents join and leave the team, but none were as stunning as Morgan's proxy. Between her perfectly proportioned face, her sense of humour, and tolerance of his ramblings, he inferred that he was in trouble. As per usual, his hypothesis was right.
The only thing standing between them is Kory's rule: no dating coworkers.
Between that, FBI rules, and the shadows of their pasts, a relationship is simply off the table. Or it should have been.
If only he wasn't able to read her so easily. And if only she wasn't one of the few people interested in every word he had to say.
