He opened his eyes to a clear blue sky, the world around him erupting with noise: the wind rustling the leaves of trees, the chatter of far away people, the faint sound of a song he hadn’t heard before. He feels blades of grass tickling his arms, the breeze brushing past his face, the warmth of the sun against his face… that familiar warmth…
And then he remembers.
