Summary
According to "H J Potter's" diary, Hermione is reliving an unknown number of years with Harry Potter, due to a deal made with Death. At first glance, there's no way to prove it correct (even the book admits it has little information beyond what she and Harry have). However, she's told, Harry should have "twinges" just after he restarts, designed to move him onto a slightly different path from the one that led to death and failure. And his cloak glows, but who's watching it constantly? On interrogation, Harry denies having a twinge or seeing his cloak glow. Oh, well. Even if the book is correct, he could have restarted any time in the last decade - or even more. Then he off-handedly tells her that today, for whatever reason, he suddely thought very intently about the Mirror of Erised.

Well, in this case it's 'A Reward For A Reward'.Harry's 'Reward' for killing Voldemort and thereby saving the Wizarding World, and refusing to hand over all that remained of the Potter and Black fortunes... was a one-way trip to Azkaban, courtesy of a living Albus Dumbledore, along with a visit from Ron and Hermione Weasley and their pet dementor.
Harry's pretty sure that him waking up in the cupboard under the stairs wasn't in Hermione's plan, but he wasn't going to waste the opportunity.
He planned on giving those responsible for his untimely death, their Just Rewards and then he wanted to live the life they stole from him.He just wasn't expecting who he'd trip over or what they'd know. And that they'd their own 'Rewards' to dish out.
