Summary

Tails, meanwhile, refuses to accept that Sonic is dead, and will do anything to get him back. But even if he succeeds, nothing will ever be the same. Summary
For as long as Tails can remember, Sonic's always made up a different story about how they first met. He's said he found Tails following him through the jungle, that he fell on him from out of a tree, that he caught him fixing his plane... It has become a constant just how inconsistent he can be with all these different versions of the same story. But Sonic's just having a bit of fun and exercising his right as his big brother to mess with him a little. Over the years it became their own silly tradition in a way.
Until Tails realizes the real reason why Sonic doesn't tell it right.
Time isn't a straight line, and the stitches holding their story together are a little uneven, but like Sonic says, the how isn't always what matters. That it happened at all is what does.

If Tails had known making that promise meant leaving him behind, he would've asked Sonic to take it back. He didn't mind getting hurt sometimes if it meant he could stay with Sonic forever.

Summary
Dark Oak takes the Planet Seed right out of Sonic's chest, throwing the entire planet in disarray. The only ones to be unaffected are the children because of their weaker connection to chaos energy. To save their loved ones and the planet as a whole, they band together to find the chaos emeralds Sonic scattered in his final moments before Dark Oak and the Metarex can. While on this mission across the universe, they will each learn a valuable lesson and forge unbreakable bonds with each other. Only time will tell if this will be enough.
