Summary
Hornet would still stand at the split in the metaphorical road, unable to take the next step herself. The weight of the world would suffocate her and she’d freeze in place. She couldn’t even rely on her own desires; they had the habit of vanishing in the face of such a choice.
Like how she was standing here now at the deepest part of the Abyss, needle in one claw and the softly glowing Everbloom in the other, Void writhing impatiently below her. She knew exactly what she needed to do. She just had to keep moving forward.
She couldn’t.

Summary
The half-Weaver was well-versed in combat, and Lace had expressed worry about what the outcome could be if Phantom and the spider got into a fight. She had repeatedly asked the musician to not raise their blade unless it was in self-defence.
Phantom had promised their sister as much. They knew what would likely result from a battle with the spider, and they knew that Lace wanted to avoid such an outcome. They could do it for their sister. They could avoid that outcome for her sake.
But when the half-Weaver had begun walking across the organ room, treading carefully like a hunter, the edge of her steel needle glinting softly in the light from the Silkflies, Phantom’s resolve had just…
Snapped.

Summary
The Pure Vessel pulled back to the arena’s edge, and Lace retreated as well. Slowly, the two began to circle each other. Lace watched her opponent carefully, using the moment to plan her next move, waiting for the chance to attack or dodge away. The world had narrowed down to her and the Pure Vessel and this stone circle they stood in, the edge of her pin and the edge of their nail, a fight to win.
Exhaustion weighed at the edges of her mind, but she pushed it away. She couldn’t give into that, wasn’t supposed to give in. Her feelings didn’t matter. If she was told to fight, she had to fight.
Or: the daily combat practice between the young Lace of Pharloom and the young Hollow of Hallownest, and the day that combat practice sparked a friendship between them

Summary
After five years of being stuck in a dream, a vessel named Ghost wakes up in an unfamiliar place with a strange talisman in their claws. They quickly get knocked out by a guard, but not before they see a flash of a memory that's not their own—and has the scent of a missing sibling. And that talisman activates when it comes in contact with the memory. Meanwhile, a princess named Hornet secretly watches a guard knock out an intruder who shares the scent of a lost sibling—and she can't stop herself from rescuing them.
Ghost's talisman has just activated a trail of memories that only four can see—Ghost, Hornet, a former knight named Senti, and an unwanted heir named Phantom. Each has been desperate to find a sibling (or siblings) who disappeared five years ago, and as it turns out, this memory trail was left by those very siblings. Following the memories, these four must work together to travel across the kingdoms of Hallownest and Pharloom and uncover the truth—and they will set off a chain of events that will shake this world to its core.
Or: I forced my current four favorite characters (Ghost, Hornet, Phantom, and Second Sentinel) to party up, then sent them on a quest to find their siblings

Summary
They shifted their grip slightly, grabbing onto a different part of the ledge, and the stone broke apart under one of their claws. Ghost’s soul lurched in their chest. They tried again, one hand tightly gripping the mantis claw, the other searching for purchase on the rock. After a harrowing moment they finally found a handhold, but the vessel felt as though it was going to give at any second.
They glanced down again, trying to reassure themselves that the ground wasn’t all that far away—
But suddenly, the ground was far away. Much further than just four feet. In fact, they couldn’t see the ground at all; it was just them, this rocky ledge, and nothing but open air below.
The little shadow stiffened, their soul clenching in the way they’d come to identify as fear. They were very high up, and there was a long way for them to fall.
Or: Ghost has a flashback when they get stuck hanging over the edge of a four foot drop. Hornet tries her best to help

Bookmarker's Notes
I haven't read this one yet, but it looks interesting so I'm saving it. I believe it's about a Jammer who was raised by the Phantoms (and it was inspired by Abbykurle's Slave of the Phantoms)

Juno-centric fanfic about the events leading up to Balloosh being hidden. I love Juno and I love Balloosh, and this interpretation of the lore is great

The sequel to Slave of the Phantoms! It's unfinished and can probably be considered abandoned at this point, but it's still such a good fic

Thank Prime the Wayback Machine has a capture of this fic and its sequel, otherwise it would be lost media. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE this freaking fic and I have very fond memories of binge reading the entire thing in one day. Animal Jam is my childhood and even though I rarely play the game anymore, that world will always be a part of me
