Summary
Based off this Tumblr text post by s4mm4n:
God I miss the days when you could show up to a strangers farm and he’d say “Whats your name, boy?” and you’d take off your hat and hold it to your chest to better let him see your face and reply “Why I aint got one sir, on account of my mammy passed on before she could give me one” and he’d tell you he’s real damn sorry to hear that and ask what he can do for you and you’d tell him that you can’t read nor even write neither but you’re mighty good with horses and can mend them fallen fence posts what you saw on your way in and won’t ask for nothing much more than a hot meal and a warm barn to sleep in and he’d keep his wife and daughters inside but send his boy who aint for married even though his mama tells him he needs a woman out with a lantern and some stew at night and the two of you’d get to talking and he’d throw you his flask to take a swig from and watch you drinking from it while he leant against the door frame and when he finally got called back on up to the house again he’d take a sip from it too real slow-like like it weren’t the whiskey what he were tryna savorWARNING: Halfway through this story, it becomes about family loss and tuberculosis.

Summary
Four years ago when Eddie and Christopher started reading the book series about Daniel's Adventures together before bedtime, Eddie never would have guessed that he would run into the author of said book series in the middle of a Barnes & Noble in LA. He also wouldn't have guessed that said encounter would begin with him sternly lecturing the stranger and making a slight fool of himself. Nor would he have predicted that this terrible first impression would somehow make the published author want to give his phone number to Eddie.
Or, Eddie the firefighter and Buck the writer have a meet-cute, and things progress from there.

“Johnny, fuckin’ hell.” Skull-framed eyes widened. A hand shot out to grab Soap’s shoulder, turning him to get a better look at whatever had caught Ghost's attention. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
Soap looked down at himself to get an idea what the lieutenant was freaking out about.
Ah. Blood. Quite an impressive amount, actually.
Soap gets a little bit shot. It's fine, but the shock rattles their small group, making them even closer than before. Also, there's a game of Cluedo, for some reason.

Summary
It was a freak accident. A suspect Carlos had been chasing down the highway suddenly cut the wheel, causing a tractor trailer to swerve and tip over. Officer Lexi Mitchell, Carlos’s partner, who had miraculously walked away with some bruises and two broken ribs, said it all happened in seconds. Carlos had slammed on the brakes and tried to avoid the crash, but his car flipped over several times before it slammed into the side of the truck. The impact had been on the driver’s side.
The worst part was that Carlos wasn’t even supposed to be working that day. Lexi told him Carlos had been picking up extra shifts to save for the wedding. When the call came into the station, TK knew it couldn’t be Carlos, because he was home, resting on his day off.
The 126 was the first on the scene.
