    Summary

"An adventure?" Billa Baggins, a respectable genteel hobbit of the Shire, shivered and tried to convince herself it was a shudder.

In which a perfectly proper not-so-young lady whistles her reputation down the wind and finds she really is her mother's daughter.

    Summary

Briar Baggins was a disappointment to those in the Shire who once expected that she would become someone exceptional. She was difficult to coax from her study, often withdrawing into books about lands far beyond their green, rolling hills.

It came as a surprise when Briar accepted an invitation from her cousin to visit Bucklebury, and returned some time later with a baby in her arms. A baby that malicious gossips insisted had been seen wearing tiny socks, of all things!

No doubt things would settle down again after that bit of excitement.

A proper gentlehobbit would not chase after adventure well into her middle age, after all.

    Summary

Dwarven courtships are long and convoluted, and yet Camri seems to stumble through it all blindly in such a way that none of the dwarrow knows that she doesn't know what she's doing.

Camri is just trying to keep her Durin's alive and happy, why does that have to be so hard?

(Camri is Welsh for Chamomile, which in the language of flowers means 'Patience in adversity'. I thought it fitting given how the quest goes ;p)

    Summary

There are no words adequate to describe the Last Homely House or the wonders of Lord Elrond’s hospitality, which seems impossible to strain even under the burden of thirteen empty dwarfish stomachs and their even more trying attitudes.

Having played hostess to those same stomachs in her time, Briar is duly impressed and endeavors to add to the burden as little as possible. This is made somewhat more difficult by the fact that elves, apparently, are better able to differentiate between hobbit gentlemen and hobbit ladies that dwarves seem to be. A fact Briar learned when Lord Elrond pulled her to one side after their meal and put her into the hands of his daughter and her women with a gentle smile.

Briar feels that she probably owes him a swift kick in the shins for that.
