October 4th 2023 Update: The end of two arcs
NOTE: This fic is a reinvention of ASoIaF/GoT (we pretend the S7/S8 disasters never happened). We pick up where the Arya/Faceless storyline left off in tWoW prologue, then merge into the universe of the TV Show, then this world. The fic will end with the ending of the Game of Thrones, and beyond.
A girl completes her training to become a faceless one. On the other side of the Narrow Sea, a man struggles not to fall in love with a memory. The two will meet again, this time as comrades-in-arms on a deadly mission. Other reunions are also inevitable, for Arya Stark has found a way to serve the Many-Faced God without surrendering her identity. How will the last of the Starks react to one of their own being an assassin? Meanwhile, Daenerys Targaryen moves on Westeros, a new King rises in the North, and everyone is still playing a Game no one can win...

2025 update: Still slow to update, but still worth the yearly re-read on the regular. The characterization. The LORE. The LOVE! Still more comforting than an Irish Whisky in mocha, still more invigorating than the snows of Trempealeau.

This is the one where it all began, the start of the obsession with Jaquen x Arya. Gods. Religion. Sex. Faceless Man Sex. THE MOST INSANELY EXCELLENT WORLD-BUILDING. Plots on plots on plots. The twisted tangle of a strange heart that unravels so perfectly in it's predictable unpredictability. More comforting than whisky hot chocolate, more invigorating than a morning in the Far North.

Until he focused the sight of his rifle, Will’s mind had omitted a single detail of the doctor’s features; a small thing that encompassed all of Will’s feelings, reflecting them back at him every time they were together like a warped mirror that only showed him the best of what he was. Will breathed a final shaking breath and put pressure on the trigger.

When Will sat up, the room wobbled and lights wheeled behind his closed eyes. Once they settled, he gripped the IV stand, got himself off the bed, and shuffled over to the door.
On the other side of it, a dead man lay on a plastic sheet. Hannibal knelt beside him with a kitchen knife in one hand. He looked up from his work and froze in place, still as stone. After a few seconds, Will saw the hitch of his chest as he started breathing again.
