   Summary

   Claire Beauchamp, Duchess of Havenford has a title, but no money. Jamie Fraser of Lallybroch has money, but no title. In an effort to secure their futures, Lord Lambert Beauchamp and Mrs. Ellen Fraser form an alliance and pledge their young children to marry. In hopes of coaxing the children toward love, they arrange for Claire to spend every summer at Lallybroch until her coming out.
