"What sounds more likely to you? It's not a trick, I'd genuinely like to know what you think. Is it more likely that you were bitten by a radioactive spider on a field trip, and that by some miracle this didn't kill you, instead gifting you with fantastical abilities, or that you witnessed something deeply tragic and extremely traumatising — traumatising for anybody, but especially so for a child — and your brain formed this fantastical world as a way to cope?"
Peter doesn't answer. Around the lump in his throat, he can't. He sets his jaw, but a hot tear rolls down his cheek anyway, followed by another, and another.
"I'm not crazy," he whispers.
"Of course not, you're simply unwell."

When Peter finds himself in an unfamiliar place, with no memory of how he came to be there, they tell him he has relapsed. They tell him Spider-man is just a character he invented to cope with trauma, that everything that has happened to him over the last two years is a figment of his imagination.
But Peter knows the truth.

Peter wakes up in a mental hospital and is told that he's been imagining everything Spider-Man–related. He just had a relapse after having made progress, which is why he can't recall being in this hospital before right now. It's difficult to impossible to discern truth from fiction: is he mentally ill and he's here to get help, or is this whole place an illusion keeping him from his real life?
Soon, a vision of Tony (the Tony that Peter remembers from his life as Spider-Man) begins visiting Peter and reinforcing his "delusions". He says Peter's in the medbay being cared for, that none of this is real, that Peter's doctor, Dr. Lake, is actually Quentin Beck.
Will Peter be able to escape? Is there even anything to escape from or to?

Tadashi wakes up after the fire as a kitsune, a fox spirit. He's present through the events of BH6 as a guardian to Hiro, even though he can't be seen. Crossover with ROTG, Tadashi eventually becomes the Guardian of Trust.
Sequel: Nightmares are running rampant through San Fransokyo and the rest of the world, marking the return of Pitch. Tadashi gains his first believers, including a young girl in a garden in the city and also Fred — both can see him when he's a fox but not when he's shifted human.

Summary
The sheriff watched him for a moment, then he sighed and turned slightly. He reached out to open a cabinet door beside him, and pulled out a shelf. It was on a track, so it rolled out of the cabinet fairly easily, and held a small CCTV. Derek frowned and inched his chair to the side a little bit so he could get a better angle.
He was looking at a teenager, or someone at least young enough to be the same age as Scott. He was sitting on a bed in what looked to be a larger room, the area he was in surrounded by four glass walls, with his legs crossed and head tilted.
He was also staring directly into the camera, as if he knew someone was watching. A creepy smile slowly slid onto the teen’s face, and he held up one hand, wiggling his fingers in a slow, eery wave.
Derek felt his mouth run dry. He didn’t know who this kid was, but he didn’t like him.
“Who is that?” he asked quietly.
“That,” said the sheriff, “is my son.”

5 years after s3, Stiles is still possessed by the Nogitsune. He’s kept in a bunker underground in the preserve. Derek moves back to Beacon Hills after having been chased by hunters since the fire, and he ‘gets a job’ being a guard to keep the Nogitsune from escaping. Somehow, he always knows when the Nogitsune is pretending to be Stiles and when Stiles is actually there, and he figures out how to save Stiles from the possession.

Summary
Derek wandered into the store with him, some of the cashiers cooing at Stiles because, yes, yes, he was very cute, thank you. He was getting more attention as a fox than he’d ever gotten as a human.
Figures.
He just pouted while being carried through the store, one of the girls helping Derek with what he needed and bringing it all to the cash register for him since he seemed reluctant to loosen his grip on Stiles. He probably didn’t want him wiggling free and wreaking havoc across the store.
He was pretty destructive, he’d admit that.

Witch in the woods turns Stiles into a fox and he gets adopted by Derek. Lots of ‘they don’t know it’s me’ angst. Good amount of human Stiles at both the beginning and end. Rather IC dialogue, and no (successful) goofy Shaggy Dog shenanigans with scrabble letters and computer keyboards. Altogether pretty grounded and I really enjoy, read it in 24 hours around sleep and work.

Summary
The Alpha pack has systematically attacked Stiles and his friends for months, testing their strengths and weaknesses. When one of the Alphas goes after Stiles, he awakens in the hospital and realizes that something's wrong. Very wrong. All sounds seem to hurt him, he can't understand what anyone is saying, and when he tries to speak, it's gibberish. How is he supposed to deal with the fact that he's lost the ability to communicate with his dad and his friends?
Without his ability to talk, his sarcasm, and his wit, what does Stiles even have left? Enter Derek, the only one who seems to make it better.
