Summary
From his earliest memories, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon was told by both his mother and both his grandfathers that he would be King of the Seven Kingdoms, and for the first ten years of his life, he believed those promises. He had no reason to doubt them. Never had reason to doubt his mother's promises and love for him and his brothers.
Until he went to Driftmark for his Aunt Laena's funeral.
Prince Jacaerys Velaryon was promised greatness from the moment he was born, but unfortunately, his mother’s new husband did not see him as such. Jace loved Egg and Vissy just as much as he did Luke and Joff, but the love for his new half-siblings brought with them threats that his mother never saw or chose to stop. Seeing history repeat itself and his mother and grandfather not seeing it, Jacaerys chooses to protect himself and his brothers' lives over the crown, taking a path that will eventually take him North and amongst wolves.
Jacaerys is born, but never called- a Strong, claimed as a Velaryon out of duty and love, lived his whole life promised to be a Targaryen, but ends up a Stark. The outcome is surprisingly the best thing that could have happened to everyone.
