"What does Yu-furen want me to do?"
"I want you gone from our lives! Away! Somewhere I cannot see you!"

    “Ah, the rabbits.”
“You saw them? I wanted to bring some but I figured that Lan Zhan could use some friends.”

“You said the rabbits have ribbons?”
“Yes they do, but they didn’t have it when I returned. I think it vanished with Ancestor Lan Yi’s spirit.”

“May I know the esteemed cultivator’s name?”

    “Lan Zhan, courtesy name Wangji.”

“Ah! I was right then! It is the esteemed Hanguangjun, famous for his built and pristine appearance!” he even snapped his fingers as he laughed. Wangji had to stop himself from staring.

“I am Xiao-Ying. Ying-laoshi for the kids but others call me Xiao-laoshi, I just let them,” he chuckled.

    Summary

There was a room in the Cloud Recesses.

They called it the quiet room.

They said it was meant for healing, a safe space where you could be untroubled by the world, but Nie Mingjue suspected it had actually been designed as a torture chamber and that the Lan sect, having exposed their children to it from an early age, had simply become inured to its evils.

    Summary

“You know, it really is quite funny, if you think about it a certain way,” Nie Huaisang said, and Lan Xichen trembled within what should be the safety and security of his home – of his seclusion.

He didn’t know who had allowed, or who kept allowing, the Nie sect leader to enter the Cloud Recesses, to come up to his rooms and sit by his window. He didn’t know what spell or talisman or array Nie Huaisang was using to speak with him no matter how many sound-blocking talismans Lan Xichen put up to block against him.

He didn’t know when he might come, and he didn’t know how to stop him from coming.

    (As another person said, a lifetime ago: I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know!)

    Summary

It’s been a week and a half by Lan Wangji’s careful count, and Jiang Wanyin has not returned. Nor has anyone else, for that matter, but given how close Wei Ying and the Jiang sect heir seemed, Lan Wangji cannot help but worry. Could something have happened to the other disciples? The Wen likely said that they all died during a hunt; would they have posted watch on the cave to ensure no one survived? Or was their hubris so great that they would merely assume their lies to be the truth?

    -

Or, the one where Jiang Cheng thinks he changes everything for the better.
