Ron and Hermione abandon him in the forest of Dean while hunting Horcruxes and it ends up being the best thing that could have happened to him because it leads to the beginning of a beautiful life with Tom, the one person who makes him feel whole and takes care of him.
Side Note: In this fic Harry is a submissive wizard with breasts and female genitalia but I do not consider it a female/genderbent story. Read at your own risk.

“You said that already.” Harry smiles wryly, making Ron blush up to the tips of his ears. Yes, he did say that, but, well, he’s figuring out he might have always been a little attracted to Harry, he supposes, and this skirt is just proving it's more than just a little.
