Bradley takes stock of the way Laura’s eyes change color when the sun shines across her face, the unmistakable hazel morphing into a bright green, irises like chameleons.
Lately, she’s been focusing on how Laura’s deft fingers react when a piano piece is within earshot, moving along to the melody of their own volition, hitting imaginary keys even as her focus lies elsewhere.
She couldn’t pinpoint when it was she began paying so much attention, but it seems to satisfy her professional musings for the time being. And if her heart skips a beat at the thought of Laura’s idiosyncrasies every now and again, she pays it no mind.
