Warmth in their chest constricted further. It was a silly thought without shadow of doubt, the impulsive thought that'd sparked to mind catching them off guard. A vision of Vergilius, smiling at them, as if relieved to see them as well. His voice, low, murmuring, greeting them with his voice laced with something they could never dare to name yet would have left them tingling all over.
As if Vergilius would have missed them as well, as if Dante was something to care about, think about, in such a way. A thought that was asininely tender, filling them with an indecipherable itch, spreading heat across their body. Shamefully.
