    From the moment she set eyes on Varric Tethras, some part of Hawke knew he'd be more than just an average friend. Sure, she wasn't supposed to trust him from the get go, she should have been more suspicious of him taking her hard earned expedition money and running off, but she wasn't.
    It could have been the fact that he outright admitted to being a liar and wore it as a badge of pride, spending hours spinning tales in a tavern, mostly for his own amusement. Or maybe because he was one of the few people that took their time getting to know her instead of judging her as a stoic, hard-headed brute.
