she's a wreck, pathetically sprawled out on the grass, and he's up there, humming softly to himself while he prepares yet another meaningless task for her to do. at this point, she just does them with no complaint, only feeling as if her soul is further deteriorating and falling apart as time passes. yet she has no more strength to scream, no more in her to fight. everyone she loved has already been lost. there's no more point in trying.
until he says those words. words that seemed a false promise from the start, an excuse to play with them, make them believe him. he says them, and for a painstakingly long moment scenty trembles as she realises this fact.
