"You don't have to say yes," Hongjoong adds, quieter. He needs to say it, even if he wants Yeosang to say yes, desperately. He says it as seriously as he can without coming off as severe. "I'd understand. Really. I'd just... really love to know how you've been."
Yeosang closes his eyes for just a moment before he looks back at Hongjoong. "It is," he says quietly. Low and edged with something Hongjoong's scared to call hope. "Something I'd want."
Hongjoong swallows, then swallows again. It keeps his joy off his face, only just. He measures the tick of each feature so not to betray how much he's fucking missed him.

And then an awful, cocky grin graces Wooyoung’s features. “Oh, you want me so bad.”

He's pulling the mic stand towards him as he belts out a high note, long and piercing, the crowd screaming along with him. He cuts it off and snaps his eyes open – the camera catches it head on and for a single breath, it's almost as if he's looking straight at Lan Zhan.

Lan Zhan has not seen nor heard from Wei Ying in over a month when he returns to Yiling.
The town is no different to how Lan Zhan had left it, in the market stalls lining the streets and the tea house on the corner - he can almost see Wei Ying running at him while A-Yuan clutched at his leg, and closes his eyes against the flush of humiliation at how little he understood the child at first.
But Wei Ying won't be in town today: he is not the person Lan Zhan has come here to see - though he is the reason.
(Or - Wei Ying doesn't sleep - he avoids it at all costs. When he does sleep, it's interrupted by nightmares and terrors. Wen Qing worries about him, but he won't accept her help - so she does the only thing she can think of, and calls the only person more stubborn than Wei Ying.)
