Summary
Carlos hadn’t seen TK in months. Yes, he had held vigil at his bedside for days following his last trip to West Park Memorial’s ICU, even though the pair had broken up on bad terms. Though when TK woke up, confused and agitated by his presence, his heart rate not stabilizing due to the stress, Carlos got up, walked out, and never looked back. It was a rash and emotional decision on his part, sure, but he didn’t want to cause TK any more distress than the cardiac arrest(s) and the cop’s presence at his bedside had caused. Nancy had said TK had wanted him there? “What a crock of shit,” Carlos thought to himself as he ran past the security guard, past the coffee cart lady, past the two shitty nurses who TK had recently defied by staying and being alive, holding tears back. Carlos felt like more of a shmuck than ever.
So why was he back at West Park? It turns out Carlos’s firefighter-turned-paramedic-turned-love-of-his-life-turned-ex-boyfriend never updated his emergency contact after all this time, meaning Carlos was called to the hospital due to TK being admitted, the reason not disclosed to him on the call he received mid-shift.

Summary
Wèi Yīng makes the very not clever decision to visit the Cold Springs on a chilly Gūsū afternoon, knowing he has a weak Core and that the body of which he resides in is not as durable as he likes to believe.
The consequences of his actions catch up with him fast.
Lán Wàngjī and Wèi Yīng both do not have a good time when Wèi Yīng wakes up in the throes of a rather brutal sickness; fevered, coughing, mildly delirious and struggling to breathe.
Cue a super sweet, so obviously in love Lán Wàngjī having to nurse his clingy, equally as in love, dumbass of a husband back to health. Along with visits from their sunshine child, who is quite literally perfect and is definitely worried for his Ā-diē's wellbeing, and Lán Xīchén, who is willing to do anything for his little brother and brother-in-law.

Summary
“Wei Ying?” The voice which speaks into the sudden silence is hoarse and shaking and ...familiar?
There’s a shift like movement to his right and he tenses automatically against the blow.
“Wei Ying?” No blow comes. Only that voice again and yes, it’s definitely familiar. Familiar but ...not from now. It’s a ‘before’ voice and he doesn’t let himself think about ‘before’ so he shies away from the memory, pushing it down down down as he does all memories that come before the dark and the pain. Still, something seeps through, an image: long black hair, jade pale skin, white robes, a headband, and lips set into a disapproving line.
OR Wei Wuxian is being kept in some dark horrible dungeon underground until the day Lan Wangji finds out he's still alive.
