Summary
Instead of Soap being recruited into 141 as per the original lore, it goes a little something like this:
Ghost wakes up in a pit underneath a building with a bomb attached to him. Soap has trained as an explosives and ordinance disposal tech, and is the only person that could be found to come and at least try to save him. It should be fraught, and tense, and miserable all around, and it is; a whole lot of Ghost slowly losing his mind while Soap does everything he can to save his life. But it would probably be easier if Ghost wasn't a stress-flirter, and if Soap wasn't the kind of endlessly competent that he loved, and if, by virtue of their situation, they didn't keep ripping open each other's wounds and then patching each other back up again after.

Summary
They give Ghost the flag.
Not to family. Not to blood. To him.
Johnny MacTavish is presumed dead after the blast, and the world moves on with sealed files and quiet ceremonies. Ghost stands at the grave of an empty coffin and realizes one terrible thing:
If Soap is truly gone, then there were words left unsaid.
And if he isn’t-
Ghost is coming for him.

Summary
Robin doesn't know where this is going. She doesn't know if she and Steve will ever be friends, or if they'll just be coworkers who tolerate each other for the summer.
But she does know one thing for certain: she can't keep pretending she doesn't care.
Steve isn't who she thought he was and whatever happened last semester matters—she doesn’t know why, but she knows something happened to him, and that’s beyond getting the shit beaten out of his face.
There's… there’s something else too.
And Robin's going to figure it out, one way or another.
Even if it kills her.
