Charlie includes Alastor's Shadow as a separate participant in a hotel bonding exercise, and Alastor finds that the shadow has more personality than he expected.
He wonders if his other minions, the moppets, have different skills and personalities too.
It would be better to use his minions more effectively.
They all DEFINITELY have more going on.
These lil cuties give Al more than a little trouble as he discovers just how unique they are, and learns that parenting what is essentially 25 toddlers and one teenager is not an easy task.

But I don't think he can spy on us through one of these older models. And, well...you're not our only guest anymore. We want to hold space for you, but we have to consider our other patrons, too, and what they—"
Charlie cut herself off with a startled hiccup at the sound of exploding glass. She and Angel stared at the television set, green smoke billowing out of its now-broken screen. Then they turned their attention to Alastor, who stood on the other side of the parlor. His smile was placid, but his shadow writhed, and his cane was glowing.
"One down!" he said cheerfully. Then, beckoning to the staircase, he said to Angel, "Care to lend me a hand with the rest of them, my good fellow?"
It only took a few more seconds for Angel to overcome his shock. "Oh," he said, cracking all three pairs of knuckles, "fuck yeah."

Summary
When Alastor returns to the hotel after his little stint at Vee Tower, he decides to focus on his managerial duties for a change. As a result, his radio show goes on an indefinite hiatus.
However, just because he's not on the air, that doesn't mean he isn't still broadcasting. And who better to pick up on the specific signals he's sending out than the hotel crew members who've known him the longest?
