Mr.Lancer is grading his usual essay when he comes across a surprise.
The essay is well written- if a bit strange grammatically- but well enough formulated and argued that he can't help but give extra credit. When he goes to check the name of who wrote such a beautifully done essay on the themes of "Ithaca" by Catherine Webb, he finds himself surprised to see "Danny Fenton" messily scribbled into the corner.
He'd clearly forgotten to add it before printing again, but it was easily excused with the content of the essay.
He simply HAD to get to the bottom of this little mystery.--
Hell hath no fury like the might of a Vice Principal who curses in book titles when you ignore a 504 plan.

Diona’s heel thumps against one leg of the bench, and she glances to meet his gaze. “…Where’s all this coming from?”
Venti blinks, and laughs, head dropping forward. “I… I’m not even sure. I guess there’s just something about being in this church that makes me want to… confess.”
Her pink brows furrow. “Confess to what?”
He sighs, soft and slow. “…I don’t even know.”
She leans back on the bench, propping her palms on the edge behind her and letting her head fall back. She stares beyond the tall organ pipes, up at the ornate ceiling of the grandiose cathedral. “…Venti?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think this is how he wanted things to be?”
His breath grows shallow. “…Who?”
“Barbatos.”
“I… can’t say I know much about what he wanted.” He stares at his hands.

Summary
He was trained to help humans reach things, open cabinets, and to let his human lean on him when their legs were too weak. After he died, he learned to tell when someone's heart was beating too fast, and learned to smell when someone smelled wrong.
He loves spending time around other dogs like him, dogs with purpose, who have humans of their own. He loves looking after their humans as his friends take a nap, and has no problems waking them up if their human needs something Cujo's ghost body can't give anymore.
AKA what if Cujo was a therapy dog, instead of a Guard Dog?
