If Perseus were human, this would be patent desire. If he were human, the rough palm laid on Nico’s face, seeming to suck at his skin as Perseus pushes up from the water between Nico’s knees and leans over him, staring with those huge, strange eyes, would be blatant affection.
Perseus isn’t human, but Nico is, and so is prone to forgetting why that would make any difference.

Summary
Hermione Granger's world was like a library, every book in its proper place, information sorted and categorized, then recategorized, borrowed, returned, lost, donated, and above all, logical. Her world was adaptable, able to bring facts like magic, prophetic chosen ones, and immortal evils into the fold, yet inflexible when it came to nearly every word that came out of Luna Lovegood's mouth.
Hermione didn't know what Luna's world was like. She didn't know how Luna could say the things she did, backed up by entirely no data, utterly nonsensical, and often with one sentence effortlessly contradicting the last. If she were honest, she'd say she didn't know how Luna got up in the morning when, to her perception, Luna Lovegood's world was a poorly maintained, ill-sorted, rubbish pile of books stationed right before a good burning.
She had assumed Luna's world was illogical, disorganized, so at odds with her own worldview, Hermione couldn't guess at the function. She never assumed, of course, that was the function.

October 4th 2023 Update: The end of two arcs
NOTE: This fic is a reinvention of ASoIaF/GoT (we pretend the S7/S8 disasters never happened). We pick up where the Arya/Faceless storyline left off in tWoW prologue, then merge into the universe of the TV Show, then this world. The fic will end with the ending of the Game of Thrones, and beyond.
A girl completes her training to become a faceless one. On the other side of the Narrow Sea, a man struggles not to fall in love with a memory. The two will meet again, this time as comrades-in-arms on a deadly mission. Other reunions are also inevitable, for Arya Stark has found a way to serve the Many-Faced God without surrendering her identity. How will the last of the Starks react to one of their own being an assassin? Meanwhile, Daenerys Targaryen moves on Westeros, a new King rises in the North, and everyone is still playing a Game no one can win...
