Peri didn’t understand his godkid’s obsession with hoodies. What was so special about those types of sweaters that made Dev determined to stack his closet with more than enough of them to last him several weeks without wearing anything else?
Peri believed that as a fairy godparent, it was well within his right to learn about these things for the benefits of his godchild. So Peri decides to poof one up for himself to see what all Dev’s fuss is about.
As he holds it, he finds that it’s light, and soft to the touch, the cotton kind. He brings it to his chest. It’s a shade of purple, of course it is, only a bit more faded than the color periwinkle. He scents is like his favorite kind of fairy candy.
Finally, he shuffles it on over his head, struggles to pop his hands out of the arm holes but he eventually does.
Oh. Peri pets the fabric down, against his chest and abdomen. He gets it now.

“Checkmate,” He whispers, cheeky and relieved. He shoves the blanket draped over his figure off, kicking it when it laces around his ankles, and peeling away from the couch.
He’s made it about halfway across the living room to the door when a voice startles him. It’s possible that he may have jumped a foot into the air, though he’d never admit to it. His chest stutters.
“I hope you don’t plan to go out like that,” Nikolai comments plainly. Zak slowly twists to get a look at him—he’s got his arms crossed over his chest and a stoic expression that sends shivers down his spine. “It’s cold out. You haven’t even got a sweater.”
Zak always hesitates to respond when he can’t dissect the mood in a situation. Still, forcing a grin, he says, “It’s fine. I don’t need one.”
“Yeah. I’m not sure about that.” Nikolai tilts his head, his eyebrows tightening.
Or, 3 times Zak deals with some kind of confrontation and 1 time he is comforted.

Angela didn’t know any better. Her expression shifted only once she noticed his judgement, caught off guard and after a belated beat she tossed him an ugly, dirty look in return. “Uh. Yea? So, what?”
“You can get lung cancer.” He offered with a shrug, unfazed by the unimpressed glare he had earned because of it.

He huffs. “I said don’t worry about it. Kindergarten’s the easiest. You’ll probably ace it. Like you always do with stuff.” He doesn’t say it like a compliment, like most people do.
It’s somehow both refreshing and annoying.

After Shane Hollander suffered a career ending injury in 2013, he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. It wasn’t until 2018, when he connected with a surrogacy agency, that he finally felt like he could do something that would give him meaning and purpose once again.
Oh, and by the way, his relationship with Ilya Rozanov also ended in 2013. That was because he fucking hated him.
Oh, and by the way, It just so happens that Ilya, planning ahead for his unexpectedly early retirement, is looking for a surrogate to have his baby.
