Daniel and Vala have everything they could ever want. It should be so, anyway. They have their little girl, Evie. They have a cuddly cat so different from how people say cats actually act. However, Vala feels as if something is missing. Two things, actually, if she’s perfectly honest. She wants a little boy. She also wants a dog, as she’s met such sweet dogs in her time on Earth.
Enter Ulric, an orphaned child. He has with him a dog. The boy and the dog immediately make their way into Vala’s heart. She and Daniel take them in, and get help to foster him, and eventually they’ll adopt him.

Daniel and Vala haven’t met yet. They will meet, and they will see they are meant to be.
