Emmrich asks Lucanis to teach him how to bake apple pie, because Lucanis is the most logical choice out of the Veilguard to ask for help regarding a problem like this. No other reason, of course.
Lucanis goes absolutely overboard to bake the perfect pie, because he wants to help his fellow team mate. He would do this for everyone, he swears.
Spite is just fed up with them both dancing around each other (as is the rest of the team).
